SRC Risk ManagementPrintable

What it is:

Effective with registration year 2016, the State Referee Committee (SRC) implemented a mandatory background check for referees, assignors, assessors and instructors who are 18 years old or older. Beginning with USSF certification in 2016, those who are 18 years old or older seeking to certify as a USSF referee, assignor, assessor or instructor will be subjected to a background check which initially will be free of charge. Each official seeking to certify for one or more of those categories will be asked to agree to the SRC background check system. If an official does not agree, registration with USSF will be denied. Presumably the SRC will find a way to notify those whose background check results is not favorable.

Getting this information to EKCSRA:

We interface with the SRC database of USSF certified officials. Beginning January 1, 2016 when the SRC database is queried for current USSF registration, if the return is the official is certified for the calendar year in question, the presumption will be the person either (1) has passed the SRC background check or (2) is under 18 years of age. The EKCSRA website checks on a periodic basis whether an official registered with EKCSRA is certified for the applicable calendar year.
